Lamorinda Rugby Football Club is a community-based volunteer organization that gives youth and high school students the chance to learn and play competitive rugby in a team environment, one that promotes both individual development and shared achievement.
We run rugby for boys and girls from 1st grade through high school, out of Wilder Field in Orinda, and we are one of the largest youth rugby programs in Northern California. Every head coach is certified by USA Rugby through Rugby NorCal, and the club is run by the families in it.

Our Mission
The Lamorinda Rugby Football Club provides youth and high school age students the opportunity to learn and play competitive rugby in a team environment that promotes both individual development and shared achievement. We introduce and emphasise the unique international culture of rugby football, which celebrates not only competition but camaraderie, sportsmanship and fair play, and we run an inclusive, family-oriented club built on participation and volunteerism.
What we stand for
Rugby is a game for all shapes and sizes. There is a position for every body type, as long as you bring heart, character and a strong work ethic. These are the things we ask of every player and every coach.
Safe but demanding
We develop the techniques, skills and tactical principles of rugby union in an environment that is safe, but that asks something of every player.
The culture of the game
Rugby celebrates not only competition but camaraderie, sportsmanship and fair play. We teach all of it.
Everybody plays
A positive experience for every level of athlete, from the beginner to the elite, with everyone playing competitive rugby at a level that suits them.
Run by its families
An inclusive, family-oriented atmosphere of participation and volunteerism. The club is run by the parents in it.
Player safety first
Every head coach is certified by USA Rugby through Rugby NorCal, and we are one of the few clubs that keeps a certified athletic trainer on the sideline at all high school games.
