High School

Lamorinda Rugby plays in the Premier Division in Rugby NorCal’s Club League. Pre-season practice starts in December, pre-season games in January and league games run from early March to mid-May.

We aim to run two Varsity and one Freshman side every week during the Club season. The whole squad trains together and teams are picked on a weekly basis, with players able to progress during the season and turn out for more than one team each weekend to maximize development opportunities.

We welcome every level of player, from those who have never played before to those who have played for years and are experienced at integrating new players into the squad.

Many of our current squad have played for Lamorinda since U8 and we are proud of the strong sense of community they bring. Several of our High School Coaches are ex-players who have returned to give back to the club that gave them so much in their youth.

Each year, we welcome players to join us following the end of the Single School season, which ends right as we transition from pre-season into league games. Players from Dons Rugby, at Acalanes High School, Bishop O'Dowd and De La Salle, many of whom played for Lamorinda as young players, play for their schools and then come to play for us. We're proud of those associations and the strength of our Lamorinda community.

Many Lamorinda alumni go on to play rugby in college, and several have played professionally and for the USA Eagles.
